During the summer season, the Saco River averages 3 feet deep (some short sections are deeper) with some small rapids, lots of sandy beaches, and some rope swings for the more adventurous. Please visit our River Conditions page for daily and weekly updates.

Best of all, your 5-mile or 7.8-mile canoe/kayak trip end at your car!

Whether you're planning a half-day float or a full day on the river, our group packages make it easy. Choose the trip that fits your crew and shuttle is included.
5 Mile Family Package
A half-day float great for families and first-timers. Starting from our private 15-acre beach, this trip drifts through sandy beaches, rope swings, and scenic mountain views. Plan for roughly 2 to 4 hours on the water.
Single and double kayaks available. Shuttle included.

7.8-Mile Group Package
A full-day paddle for groups who want more river. Starting at the base of Cathedral Ledge in North Conway, this trip winds through small riffles, sandy beaches, rope swings, and mountain scenery. Plan for roughly 3 to 5 hours on the water.
Single and double kayaks available. Prior river experience recommended.

5-mile Adventure / 2-4 Hour Paddle
This 5-mile adventure is great for first time paddlers and families. This trip begins from our private 15-acre beach and features sandy beaches, rope swings and lots of scenic mountain views.
7.8-mile Adventure / 3-5 Hour Paddle
Great trip for individuals who want to spend the entire day on the river. Trip starts in North Conway at the base of Cathedral Ledge. Trip features a few small riffles, sandy beaches, rope swings and mountain views. Great Fly Fishing too!
9.2-mile Adventure / 4-6 Hour Paddle
This trip is for people who have previous kayak experience. Guaranteed to get wet! This section features four short section of class I rapids. Most exciting section of the Saco. Trip only offered in single kayaks when
river gauge reads 350 cfs to 1000 cfs.
4-Mile Redstone Rapids Kayak Adventure / 2-3 Hour Paddle
New for 2026! Our most exciting kayak trip yet. Paddle four sets of small rapids, pass directly under the historic Conway Covered Bridge, and enjoy sandy beaches along the way. We use Aire Inflatable Self-Bailing Kayaks, built for stability on moving water. Previous paddling experience recommended. Ages 13 and up, strong swimmers only.
Conway Lake Paddling
We will meet you there with all the equipment and you can stay out on the lake as long as you wish. Call for more info.

Disclaimer
The Saco River is not an Amusement Park. There are no lifeguards on duty and natural hazards exist. Saco Canoe Rental Company does not maintain any rope swings along the river. Many have been there for years. They are maintained by local kids and are inherently dangerous.
